Brecken decided she wanted to be a princess for Halloween. I tried to talk her into being a fairy, but to no avail. My girl knows what she wants. When we went to the fabric store to pick out her pattern and fabric, and after looking at a bunch of patterns she saw the mermaid costume. "Mom: I be mermaid princess!"... and that was it- she had made her decision & there was no changing it! Too cute!
P.S. This was before Pocahantas was discovered & before the Pocahantas 'dress' was created. Brecken still has not changed her mind- she wants to be mermaid princess. Too bad because I love the thought of a quick 5-minute costume!

Pocahantas Princess
This morning Brecken watched Pocahantas for the first time and LOVED it! Near the end of the movie I relized I had fabric to make a quick 5-minute Pocahantas dress. Brecken thinks it is great, but I realized she needed a Pocahantas necklace. This is what we came up with... & she feels like an princess! If I was smart I would make this her Halloween costume but she has already decided on Mermaid princess and picked out her fabric...darn-it!
Finally... Home
So we have been in our house for 7 months now. Don't get me wrong- we love it, but... everytime we drive up to it it feels a little like a construction zone- until now!!! We finally got our landscaping in and it feels GREAT!!! It's home!
We have a few hiccups during the process with a joke of a landscaper because of whom we had to pay for our retaining wall (between our house & the neighbor's) TWICE- talk about a rip-off! Well... I guess live and learn :) The landscapers we hired next where awesome and got it done in a day and a half (they had lots of man-power!). We are relieved because the idea of doing the yard ourselves was daunting and impossible. We can now check front yard off our never-ending list!!!
Family Fun
We had a great night at the park last week. Luckily we went then because our good weather is now behind us for the rest of the year. We went a little crazy with the camera, but thought we would share some pics.
Hair Disaster
Soo... three weeks ago I was dying for a hair-cut. A girl I work with is in beauty school but kept telling me she was very good and ready to work at a Salon. Feeling a little pressured ( I would feel bad if I showed up with a new hair-cut that she did not do!) which is totally weak and the pleasing side of me... I decided to go to her against Lane's advice!
Needless to say: The hair-cut that I showed her was layered and about mid-neck length. What I ended up with... hair just above my chin that look like someone took paper sissors to. It was AWEFUL to say the least!!! I wanted to just crawl in a hole for a couple months until it grew out. When I went to pick up Brecken I was telling my friend I hated it. I loved her honesty what she said, "It's bad"! When Lane got home the first thing he said: "What did you do?!!!" I told him I knew it was terrible. I got right on the phone and called my hairdresser who couldn't get me in for two days- what??? Next plan: call Crystal Marley. I had heard she gave great haircuts. When I got ahold of her she had two other appointments but told me to be at her house at 9pm. I felt like I was barging in, but HELLO- it was an emergency. I was not going to be seen like that. Luckily Crystal was able to salvage what was left and gave me a cute stacked bob. Lane likes the haircut and has ceased to call me Tim!!!- Hilarious! Thank you Crystal!!!
