Finally... Home

So we have been in our house for 7 months now. Don't get me wrong- we love it, but... everytime we drive up to it it feels a little like a construction zone- until now!!! We finally got our landscaping in and it feels GREAT!!! It's home!

We have a few hiccups during the process with a joke of a landscaper because of whom we had to pay for our retaining wall (between our house & the neighbor's) TWICE- talk about a rip-off! Well... I guess live and learn :) The landscapers we hired next where awesome and got it done in a day and a half (they had lots of man-power!). We are relieved because the idea of doing the yard ourselves was daunting and impossible. We can now check front yard off our never-ending list!!!

Family Fun

We had a great night at the park last week. Luckily we went then because our good weather is now behind us for the rest of the year. We went a little crazy with the camera, but thought we would share some pics.

Hair Disaster

Soo... three weeks ago I was dying for a hair-cut. A girl I work with is in beauty school but kept telling me she was very good and ready to work at a Salon. Feeling a little pressured ( I would feel bad if I showed up with a new hair-cut that she did not do!) which is totally weak and the pleasing side of me... I decided to go to her against Lane's advice!

Needless to say: The hair-cut that I showed her was layered and about mid-neck length. What I ended up with... hair just above my chin that look like someone took paper sissors to. It was AWEFUL to say the least!!! I wanted to just crawl in a hole for a couple months until it grew out. When I went to pick up Brecken I was telling my friend I hated it. I loved her honesty what she said, "It's bad"! When Lane got home the first thing he said: "What did you do?!!!" I told him I knew it was terrible. I got right on the phone and called my hairdresser who couldn't get me in for two days- what??? Next plan: call Crystal Marley. I had heard she gave great haircuts. When I got ahold of her she had two other appointments but told me to be at her house at 9pm. I felt like I was barging in, but HELLO- it was an emergency. I was not going to be seen like that. Luckily Crystal was able to salvage what was left and gave me a cute stacked bob. Lane likes the haircut and has ceased to call me Tim!!!- Hilarious! Thank you Crystal!!!

Brecken's favorite Dress
If it's clean... Brecken will wear it! Aunt Robin got it for her and she asks for it every morning. I don't mind... as long as it is clean. She wears it to storytime, the store,... anywhere she can. I usually talk her out of it when we go to the park so that it won't get dirty. We discovered today the real problem of playing on toys with it... it gets in the way, so...

it got tucked in! Isn't that even more adorable?!!! - hilarious!!!

QuAcK, qUaCK!!!
Feeding ducks... a big hit! It is actually the first time we have done it and she loved it!

Snacking in between sharing!

Blackberry Picking
Obviously I was doing the picking while Brecken was the "sampling"! What a clever Mom to have her wear all purple!!!

Brecken brought me the camera and said, "Take a picture of me!" Sooo.... cheese!

Brecken's new favorite pastime- PlAy DoUgH
The most requested: birthday cake and candles... then we sing "Happy Birthday" & "blow-out" the candles! She LOVES it!

Evenlyn has arrived!

Congrats to Natalie and Rob for being the proud new parents of Evelyn Kinsley Boyack. She was born on Aug. 5 at 6:56 weighing in at 7 lbs. even and 18 1/2" long. She's beautiful and loved. Can't wait to meet her!

Our Baby is TwO

Can't believe it... Brecken is two. What a whirlwind. She is soo wonderful and Lane & I cannot imagine life without her. Brecken is so loving, fun, ... & talkative. Her birthday started early with a celebration in Sacramento where she really grasped idea the Birthday song, cake, candles, being the center of attention... and presents of course! The highlights of her actual birthday... we made cupcakes and decorated them. When we sang Happy Birthday and blew out the candles, all we heard was.. "Again"... "Again"... "Again"!!! I think we did it 10 times- at least 8! She opened her present of Elmo pajamas and she wanted them on right then. Next she opened nail polish... she wanted her toes and fingers painted right then (what a girl)! Sounds like Brecken! On Sunday we celebrated with the Foulgers- the highlight for Brecken was definately the Elmo birthday cake- Lane and I got creative (the best parents EVER!!!). Brecken kept asking us to pull it out of the fridge so she could kiss it- too cute!

Zoo Trip

On August 4, we went to the Portland Zoo. Brecken LOVED it! It was a big hit. If you ask her what her favorite animal was, she replies, "CATS!" She will tell anyone about it if they will listen. Brecken will tell you about the Giraffes, Zebras, Elephants, Birds, Turtles, Hippos, Tigers, and on and on! I was so excited to take her I could hardly sleep the night before- it was almost like the night before Christmas! She cannot wait to go again!
